These Lucky Habanero Cream Cheese Wontons take a classic appetizer and give it a bold twist. By mixing Lucky Habanero Salsa Dragon Lips directly into the cream cheese filling, you get extra flavor, a little heat, and a delicious creamy texture in every bite.
They’re baked instead of fried, so they’re easy to make and perfect for parties, game day, or a quick appetizer.
Ingredients
8 oz cream cheese, softened
¼ cup Lucky Habanero Salsa Dragon Lips
3 tbsp chopped green onions
1 tbsp finely minced sweet onion
1 tsp sugar
¼ tsp salt
20 wonton wrappers
1 egg (for egg wash)
vegetable oil spray or olive oil
Optional for serving:
Thai sweet chili sauce or additional Lucky Habanero Salsa
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Make the Filling
In a bowl combine:
softened cream cheese
¼ cup Lucky Habanero Salsa Dragon Lips
chopped green onions
minced sweet onion
sugar
salt
Mix until smooth and fully combined.
3. Assemble the Wontons
Crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk to create an egg wash.
Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Brush egg wash along the edges.
Bring two opposite corners together and seal, then bring the remaining corners to the center and press to seal tightly.
Repeat until all filling is used.
4. Prepare for Baking
Arrange the wontons on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray or brush them with vegetable oil so they crisp up in the oven.
5. Bake
Bake for 7–9 minutes, or until the wontons are golden brown and crispy.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
